Enrich your knowledge of bicycle maintenance with South Side Cyclery. Join us to learn more about maintaining your bike. Learning how to properly care for your bike is important to prolonging the life of the bike and its components.

ABC’s Air, Brakes, Chain.
Basic Shifting and Brake Adjustments
How to care for and clean your bike.
Objectives
Build your vocabulary in bicycle specific terminology.
Fully understand the ABC’s and why they are important.
Be able to do minor gear and brake adjustments at home or in the field.
Know how to properly and safely clean your bike, and what to watch out for.

Overview & Purpose
We will be going over how to fix flats on both tubed and tubeless tires. We never want you to be stranded out on the trail so it is important that you learn how to fix a flat tire so you won't have to walk your bike home or back to the car.
Objectives
1. Learn about the gear you need for a trail side flat fix.
2. Learn how to remove the wheel from the bike.
3. (Tube)How to take the tire off of the wheel.
4. How to identify where the flat is and use a tire plug.
5.(Tube) How to take the old tube out and put a new tube in tire you have removed from the wheel.
6. (Tube) Putting the tire back on the wheel
7. Putting air back into the tire
8. Putting the tire back on the bike.
