Meet Our South Side Cyclery Team

TIM - "TK "
TK has been working in the Bicycle Industry for 30+ years both the retail and corporate sides of the business. He has successfully opened and managed several bicycle shops in the area and is well respected for his knowledge and integrity in the cycling community. He has had a passion for cycling since he was twelve; when he started racing BMX. Before long he became a Pro, ranking 2nd in the nation. After his BMX days he took up mountain bike, road and cyclocross racing at the expert level taking the podium more times than not.
He LOVES to talk about all things bikes and help people fall in love with the sport. He has helped several other cyclists attain their professional cycling goals by riding with and supporting two semi-pro cycling teams. Even though he may never stop racing, lately he has really enjoyed helping beginners to learn to ride and develop their skills. There isn't much about bicycles and cycling this guy doesn't know.
DEANNA - "Coach D"
Deanna grew up in St. Louis Hills with an active outdoor childhood riding bikes and playing in the beautiful neighborhood parks. She has been active her entire life. Being captain of the Bishop DuBourg pom squad and All-American Show Stopper made becoming an aerobics instructor and personal trainer an easy transition to stay active in college. Her career in retail management, finance and advisor to small business owners...including several bike shops has helped prepare her to run the business side of things at South Side. She has enjoyed helping others pursue their cycling and triathlon goals; leading women's rides, road racing to support teammates earn wins and coordinating a semi-pro cycling team to launch pro cycling careers.
She is also a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, Reiki Master, Nutritional Supplement Specialist and NICA Coach for the South City Composite Otters MTB Team where she loves helping kids build confidence through mountain biking.

DON- "South Side Legend"
Don "The Legend" Lennox is an institution--he's been the head mechanic at South Side Cyclery for more than thirty years? Don's knowledge of bikes and how to fix them is one of our most valuable resources. His ability to restore bicycles is breath taking.
Don is a renaissance man: outside of working full-time for SSC, he flies RC helicopters, follows ham radio, pursues an interest in organic gardening and sustainable living, and runs a lawn care business on the side! We're not sure when he sleeps--we're not one hundred percent sure he does.

HANNA GRACE "Fashionista"...Marketing Intern
Hanna is a senior at MIZZOU studying Fashion Marketing and Merchandising. Hanna is no stranger to what it takes to ride a bike and look good doing it. She was reigning champ at the Gateway Kids Races for several consecutive years and competed in youth triathlons. We are excited to have her help make cycling more fashionable and ensure we offer quality apparel and accessories for our customers.
TYSON (Jack of all Trades)
Tyson is studying at Fontbonne University and pitcher for the Griffins Baseball Team, majoring in Exercise Science. Just like Hanna, Tyson was known for winning several consecutive Gateway Cup Kids Races. He also competed in MTB, Triathlon and Cyclocross races. As much as he enjoys cycling, baseball has been his primary focus. He has always been good at fixing things and has experience helping “TK” build and fix bikes and cars his entire childhood. He has taken an interest in learning the business side of the bike shop and will be doing many background projects.
ELI (The Wheelie King)
Eli, our youngest, is a sophomore in high school and will be starting his first “real” job as one of our bike builders. Like his older siblings he grew up on two wheels and kept up with the tradition of winning at the Gateway Cup Kids Races! This year he joined the South City Composite MTB Team in the new Missouri Interscholastic Cycling League. He has grown in his mountain biking abilities; taking on all of the more difficult trails in the region. One of his favorite things is doing wheelies on the bike and getting air time.
LEE (The Tech Guy)
Lee is studying at Fontbonne University, majoring Computer Science and pin hitter for the Griffins Men's Volleyball Team. While Lee is new into the bicycle business and has not competed in any local bicycle events he has always been interested in computers and how they work. Lee helps keep our team moving by maintaining our website and providing excellent tech support.
If you are interested in joining our team to help us grow, we are looking for part-time seasonal help in our service department and customer service. Please send an email to deanna@southsidecyclery.com about your interest with an attach a resume.
